Abstract

The article deals with issues related to the development of reader interest in schoolchildren. It is indicated that among the genre diversity of children's literature, special attention should be paid to such genres as fantasy and detective stories, plot, characters, vocabulary that can captivate the student reader, make him love and appreciate literature not only as a source of information, but also as a source of aesthetic pleasure and joy of familiarizing with the beautiful art of words.
